These texts have been approved by the Sacred Congregation for Divine Worship, and are made public for study and catechetical purposes. Composers might like to consider setting the revised texts of the sung parts of the Mass in preparation for that time when they are authorised for public use.

Do note that these texts are most definitely not yet authorised for use in the public celebration of Mass in England and Wales. By all means, prepare musical settings of the texts but do not celebrate using them until the revised translation of the Missal comes into effect for public celebration.

Is the Mass changing? No! Yet the official text of the Mass of the Second Vatican Council - The Roman Missal of Pope Paul VI - has always been published in the Latin language. When we celebrate Mass in English, we are using an English translation of that Latin Missal. So it is the English translation of the Mass which is being revised, not the Mass itself.
